Job Description

The IRD sales attendent will assist in the service of a quality food & beverage product to customers and will assist in the development of food & beverage products and services; plus answering the guest requests and resolve guest problems.
He/She will:
• Deliver a pleasant and positive professional image to all guests at all times;
• Ensures punctual attendance to each shifts;
• Ensures of proper appearance and grooming while on duty;
• Manages cultural needs and expectations of the guests;
• Maintains positive teamwork spirit at all times;
• Always answers the phone in a courteous and professional manner;
• Effectively take guests’ orders, ensuring clarity and accuracy;
• Maintains excellent knowledge of the menu, prices, ingredients, method of preparation and availability;
• Directly be involved in the order taking and order placing process while dealing with the guest requests and orders courteously, efficiently and promptly;
• Assists Room Service Server in preparing trays and trolley;
• Performs a follow-up call to the guest after the food been served to check the satisfaction;
• Responsible for entering all IRD orders and transactions on the point-of-sale system. Accurately closes all checks for the IRD in accordance with procedures and manager’s discretion;
• Always maintains proper cash handling procedures and internal controls. Always signs in/out for the cash drawer;
• Provide full support in serving rooms as needed or assigned;
• Ensure that coupons, comps, room charge, credit card, etc. are settled in compliance with accounting policies;
• Perform all the assigned tasks as per instructions from the immediate Supervisor and as per duty schedule;
• Closely cooperate with the IRD / Guest Relations  / Front Office and other key service departments;
• Assist the team in mise en place preparation;
• Attend regular trainings assigned by IRD Manager;
• Familiar with the company’s internal policies and safety procedures;
• Assist Assistant Venue Managers in training new team members;
• Assist in overcoming logistic issues in delivery of  IRD orders;
• Ensure wastage is kept to a minimum.

Requirements

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities.

• Is able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace;
• Is able to read and write to facilitate the communication process;
• Has good communication skills, both verbal and written;

• Has basic knowledge of hotel food and beverage operations;
• Has basic knowledge of food and alcoholic beverages;
• Is aware of Health, Safety & Fire regulations and that they too abide by their terms;

• Identifies his/ herself with the hotel’s brand and operating philosophy;
• Possess a warm and friendly demeanor;
